Research Help

There are many ways to get research help from a librarian:

  • Visit the front desk during library hours and ask to speak to a librarian.
  • Call (518) 381-1235 or email a librarian using the contact info on the "About" tab
  • Use the "IM a Librarian" chat box to ask for help 24/7

Librarians can help you with:

  • Narrowing a research topic to fit the needs of a specific assignment
  • Developing useful keywords
  • Learning search strategies
  • Learning how to use databases, catalogs, and the internet to find sources
  • Determining the credibility and usefulness of a source
  • Creating citations for your paper
