Saving Documents to Your Computer/Using the Network Drive

Description: This workshop will cover how to save documents on a USB drive. Students will also learn how to use the college computer network to save documents while on campus. File management/organization strategies will also be discussed.

Creating Presentations

Description:  In this workshop, attendees will learn how to use PowerPoint to create presentations.  Attendees will learn about using different slide layouts, using slide transitions, and configuring print options to print multiple slides per page.

How to Cite Sources

Description: In this workshop, students will learn how to cite sources in their research papers, and how to create a Works Cited page.  Online citation tools will be discussed.

Description: What is a conspiracy theory, and why do people believe them? Attend this workshop for a closer look at conspiracy theories. By the end of this session, you will know how to identify a conspiracy theory, and how to evaluate the veracity of information you encounter.

Find It! A quick start to using the library catalog

Description: Learn what the library catalog is, and how to use it. By the end of the session, you'll know how to sign into your Primo account, find a book in the library, find a book in another SUNY library, and request a book from another SUNY library.

Description: The library subscribes to over 100 databases, but with so many to choose from, which one should you use? And what IS a database, anyway? Attend this workshop to learn how to choose the best database for your needs, and to learn tips for finding the information you want.

Description: Your professor wants you to use a peer-reviewed journal - now what? In this workshop you'll learn what a peer-reviewed journal is, and how to easily tell the difference between peer-reviewed journals and other types of publications. You'll also learn how to find peer-reviewed journal articles in the library's databases.

Works Cited

Description: What is a works cited page, and why do you need one? And what's the difference between APA and MLA? This workshop will address these questions, as well as tips and tricks to make creating a works cited page easier. Students are encouraged to bring a works cited page they're working on, or sources they're having trouble citing.
