Pride Center of the Capital RegionPromotes the well-being of all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified people and those affected by discrimination based on gender identity and expression.
Programs Include:
Men's Pride Group: For gay, bisexual, transgender, same-gender-loving, queer, and questioning men ages 18+ and over to talk about coming out, dating, relationships, sex, religion, and other issues affecting men’s communities.
Trans* Pride Group: Promoting the well-being of the transgender, genderqueer, gender fluid, agender, gender nonconforming, non-binary, and questioning community in a safe, empowering space. Trans Pride is dedicated to empowering transgender and gender-nonconforming people, and their allies through social opportunities, community building, resource sharing, and advocacy.
Women's Pride Group: Discussion & Peer Support Group. This is a great way to meet new people, socialize in a welcoming environment, and connect with friends.
Youth Groups:
- Albany Youth Drop-In Center: For Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, and Allied Youth ages 13-17.
- Happiness Group: A support group for families of trans* youth/children that provides assistance and education in navigating the process and overcoming obstacles faced.
- Trans* Talk: This drop-in group is a safe and supportive environment for trans* and gender non-conforming youth ages 18 and under to discuss issues related to gender identity and expression. Open to youth who may identify as trans*, genderqueer, intersex, agender, bigender, gender non-conforming, or questioning.
