You’ve probably already noticed that librarians don’t sit out at the main desk anymore. The desk is staffed by support staff and student workers, who can help students borrow materials, and with technical questions. When students have a research question, support staff notify a librarian, who sits down and works with the student. This new service model frees up librarians to focus more of their time on helping students with research, and teaching classes.
Librarians have more time now to meet with classes. If you’d like instruction for the spring, please send me an email to let me know. I’m working with faculty member Matt Farron on developing instruction for his online classes. Contact me if you’d like me to develop instruction for your online class.
Everything is coming off of reserve at the end of the semester. If you have a personal item on reserve, please pick it up by the start of the spring semester. Items that are not picked up may be discarded. If you want something on reserve for the spring, please get it to us during faculty institute week.
Research and Instruction Librarian
In addition to editing the Begley Buzz, I oversee the library's research and instruction services, including Ask Us 24/7 online research help. I can work with you to integrate library content into your in-person or online courses.
